Board of Directors

Elena Patterson - Co-Chairperson. Born and raised in South Africa, Elena studied graphic design at Stellenbosch University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree. She moved to the United States in 1976 and has been coming to Tannersville since 1977 where she is actively involved in its restoration and preservation.

Gary Slutzky - Co-Chairperson. Gary is a lifelong resident of Hunter having raised four children here, with his wife Barbara. He has been active in community affairs through his volunteerism with the Hunter Fire Co. # 1, the HTC Community Playground, The Mountaintop Historical Society and other organizations. He is a part owner of I. & O. A. Slutzky, Inc. and Hunter Mountain Ski Bowl. Gary wants to see the Town of Hunter cleaned up and appear better than it has at times in the past and then remain that way.

Rory France - Treasurer. Rory is a life long resident of the Town of Hunter. A father to 3 daughters, he and his wife own Haines Falls Auto.

Matthew A. Leach - Secretary. A lifelong resident and former 2-term mayor of Tannersville. Partner in Colonial Oil & Gas and the Colonial Country Club. Active member in local business and municipal groups.
Peter Finn - Peter is a partner in Ruder Finn, a large public relations firm headquartered in New York City, with 5 US and 6 overseas offices.
Deborah Royce - Deborah Royce has spent her career in the arts, first as an actress in film and television, then as a story editor at Miramax Films. Most recently, she and her writing partner won a grant from the Massachusetts Arts Council to develop their screenplay. Deborah serves on the Board of Directors of Literacy Volunteers of Stamford/Greenwich where she also teaches writing to adult ESL students, the Hunter Foundation, the YMCA of Greenwich, CT, the Garden Club of Mamaroneck, NY and the Avon Theater Film Center, an independent not-for-profit cinema in Stamford, CT which she and her husband restored and reopened. She lives in Riverside, CT with her husband Chuck and daughters Alexandra and Tess Porter.
Orville Slutzky - Orville is the co-founder of I.& O. A. Slutzky, Inc. and of Hunter Mountain Ski Bowl, Inc. and a long term leader of the mountain top business community. Orville counts as his greatest achievement raising 3 children and having them all remain as contributors to the community.
Ernie Reale - Ernie is a lifelong resident and local business owner. He is an advocate in the revival of the area with a belief that the future of the area is in the visiting youth and looks toward business and amenities that capture that market.
Catherine Legg - Catherine is a life-long resident of Tannersville and is very involved in community and school organizations. Aside from the Hunter Foundation, she is a contributing member of the Hunter-Tannersville Booster Club, Tannersville Area Health Committee, and serves as President of the Kaaterskill Snowmobile Association. Catherine is the mother of 2 sons and the owner of Tannersville Auto Parts.
